Meet Mel
He is a high top with opinions. He has been kept in a dusty cardboard box, he has been squashed under a bag of gym clothes, and he decided somebody had to say something.
MELROSE takes its name from the street where everybody who cares about shoes ends up on a Saturday. The boxes are what we wanted for our own closets and could not find without paying a furniture price.
It started with a pile
Twenty something pairs in a corner, half of them in the box they came in, the rest stacked on top of each other. Finding anything meant taking the whole thing apart. Putting it back meant doing it in reverse. Everything got dusty anyway.
The clear boxes that existed were either three dollars and flimsy, with doors that popped off after two months, or eighty dollars a unit from a furniture brand that treated them like art objects. There was nothing solid in the middle, so we put together the box we wanted: 5 mm acrylic, real magnets, a base that interlocks, at a price where buying twelve does not feel insane.
Then came the clothes
Jackets have exactly the same problem. So we built The Wardrobe: the same box, twice as tall, chrome rail across the top. It stacks with everything else, which means a whole wall can be one system instead of four different storage purchases.
How we work
MELROSE is a trade name of TAKON WIS LLC, a company registered in Wyoming. Orders are packed and shipped by our fulfillment partners within 1 to 3 business days, with tracking by email. If a part is defective in the first year, we send a new one under our limited warranty, no receipt hunting.
And if you want the labels printed with your pairs on them, we do that for free and email you a mockup before anything gets printed. Mel insists. He says presentation is most of it.
